So, the Oscars were a week ago today, and I tell you, they went pretty well. I think Jon Stewart should never host a single awards show ever again in his life, but besides that, it was pretty good. The first award was given to George Clooney for Best Supporting Actor in Syriana. I was thrilled. It's been long overdue for him to get an Oscar. Maybe not for Batman and Robin, but he's made some incredible movies. I was happy for him. Other awards I was pleased with: Reese Witherspoon for Walk The Line, all the effects awards that King Kong got, Rachel Weiz for The Constant Gardener, Crash for Original Screenplay and, the big one, Crash for Best Picture. Can I tell you how surprised I was that Crash won? I couldn't have been happier. That movie was so emotional and so involved and was the best movie of 2005. And it's an independent movie, how remarkable is that? An independent movie winning Best Motion Picture of the Year. The Academy usually looks away from those and calls on the big-budget epics, like LOTR(which is phenominal, but a good example). So I was very happy about the Oscars last weekend.
So, this weekend, we had contest pretty much all day on Saturday. I wasn't exactly looking forward to it, but now it's all good. Chorale had conest at 11. We did alright onstage, but in sight reading...wow. We kicked ass in sight reading. It was incredible. And JMAC told us that we did really good, and that he didn't care what we got because he was so proud. Well, we got straight 1's, so that was cool. Then Band had contest at 3. We did decent on stage, and we also did really well in sight reading. But I honestly didn't know what the outcome would've been. We got a 1. We're going to state. I'm pretty stoked about it. So two 1's in one day, pretty impressive. Finneytown rocks in the arts department. Orchestra gets a 1, Women's Chorus got a 1, Chorale and Band got a 1. It's all just exquisite.
I want to take this moment to tell everyone how incredible Gabby is. We hung out Friday, and we hadn't in a long time. It was most enjoyable. And she drives a stick. I have so much respect for her. She drives a stick. Little Gabby J. But anyway, it was so nice to talk to a good friend. We talked and talked. So yeah, next time you see her, tell her she's amazing. Because she is. The end.
Music is love. It really is. I don't exactly know what I would do if I didn't have music in my life. On the way home from contest yesterday, me and Erin listened to Time to Dance by Panic! At the Disco. She didn't seem too into it at first, but once this one part came, it became the most hardcore song in existance. We both looked at eachother, laughed, and started dancing crazy crazy. This kinda sounds stupid, but it was really cool. What music can do to bond with people. Like, when we play New Dawn in Band, I never cared much in rehearsal. I mean, I love the song and it's always been my favorite one that we play. But at our concert on Thursday, I grasped it. I got chills. It's so emotional, it paints a picture of everything going on. You can't help but be moved. I don't know, maybe it's just me. I like music that tells a story.
Life keeps tumbling you heart in circles
till you let go
till you shed your pride and you climb to heaven
and you throw yourself off
now you're out there spinning in the deep
I love you.
Later Days,

EDIT: I hate being in a bad mood. I hate when people put me in a bad mood. I hate when people who never Ever EVER put me in a bad mood do put me in a bad mood. It makes me moody and irritable and angry. And I hate when people don't listen. I hate when you try to say something, but are shotdown right away. Oh, look, my phone's ringing. Might as well not answer it, I'll probably end up just hanging up on them. Since, you know, I only always do that. Why is it that the people I'm closest to and the ones that I love the most seem to be the ones making me want to go absolutely crazy?

Dont get me wrong I aint hollywood yet I just signed that movie to get a big ass check-Chris Bridges
Crash is a super good movie. Ludacris is in it though, which means whether it was directed by yourself or Steven Speilberg, the depency or lack there of of the production isn't really important. I was super hyped it won though.March 14 2006, 01:57:00 UTC 6 years ago

I came home today and my Mom told me that she had tried to call me. Then she asked, "Do you think Michael would be offended if...you asked him to change your voice mail. It always scares me when I call because it's so loud."wow. My Mom is true.
